Catalyst Cooks

Make. Food. Happen!

Un, Dos, Tres May 6, 2010

Feliz Cinco de Mayo!  I hosted my first Crash Course Cooking Class!

The party was on!  Check out our cool decor >>>

The Prep Table was ready to go- only needed some aspiring chefs Mexicanos.

We made margaritas from only the basic ingredients: Fresh-squeezed lime juice, Grand Marnier, and Tequila.

Chef James was drink master and chopper extraordinaire.

It's all in the Tomato Knife.

We started with Veggies and made a wonderful, fresh pico de gallo, which also was the base for our guacamole.

Pico de Gallo, with tomatoes, onion, cilantro, garlic, and lime juice

Tiffani rocked her Avocado techniques- halving them, removing the pit with the tines of her knife, scooping the awesome greenness that is avocado and mashing it with style.

When the lime juice ran out, we made pretend Corona.  Neighbor Dave will never notice that it is Lite with a de-juiced lime, will he?

The night concluded with tasty tacos con Carnitas.  Thanks to James & Tiffani for being my first Cooking Class students!  As they said, “We had a BLAST!”
